Genesis 43:18
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਭਰਾ ਡਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਪੈਸੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਿੱਛਲੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਬੋਰੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਿਸ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸਬੂਤ ਵਜੋਂ ਵਰਤਣਗੇ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਖੋਤੇ ਖੋਹ ਲੈਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਣਗੇ।”

Psalm 73:16

Deuteronomy 22:14
ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਖੇ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਕਾਇਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੁਆਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।’ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਇਹ ਆਖਣ ਨਾਲ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਮਾੜੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੋਚਣ।
Genesis 42:28
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਦੇਖੋ, ਇਹ ਉਹ ਪੈਸਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੈਂ ਅਨਾਜ ਬਦਲੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਪੈਸੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਬੋਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।” ਭਰਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ?”
Genesis 42:21
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ-ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਉਸ ਮੰਦੇ ਕਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਭਰਾ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਖਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਦੀ ਭਿਖਿਆ ਮੰਗੀ। ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੁਣ ਅਸੀਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਂ।”
