Genesis 36:2

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਰਿਬਕਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਿੱਤੀ ਵਹੁਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਰਹਿਣ ਤੋਂ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਇੱਕ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਮਰ ਜਾਵਾਂ।”

ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਦੋ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਇਸਮਾਏਲ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਕਰ ਲਈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਮਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਧੀ, ਮਹਲਥ, ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਕਰ ਲਈ। ਇਸਮਾਏਲ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਮਹਲਥ ਨਬਾਯੋਥ ਦੀ ਭੈਣ ਸੀ।
