ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਯਾਦਗਾਰੀ ਪੱਥਰ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਅ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਲ ਛਿੜਕ ਕੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਇਹ ਥਾਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਖਾਸ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇੱਥੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬੈਤਏਲ ਰੱਖਿਆ।

ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਯਾਦਗਾਰੀ ਪੱਥਰ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਅ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਲ ਛਿੜਕ ਕੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਇਹ ਥਾਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਖਾਸ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇੱਥੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬੈਤਏਲ ਰੱਖਿਆ।
