Genesis 32:6
ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਵਾਹਕ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਕੋਲ ਵਾਪਸ ਆ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਭਰਾ ਏਸਾਓ ਵੱਲ ਗਏ ਸਾਂ। ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਚਾਰ ਸੌ ਆਦਮੀ ਹਨ।”

ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ, “ਜੇ ਏਸਾਓ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਜਾਨ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ।”
Genesis 32:11
ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਹੀ ਮਂਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੋ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਏਸਾਓ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੋ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਡਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਮਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ।
Amos 5:19
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ ਜੋ ਬੱਬਰ-ਸ਼ੇਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਪਰ ਉਸਤੇ ਰਿੱਛ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਿਫ਼ਾਜ਼ਤ ਲਈ ਘਰ ’ਚ ਵੜਕੇ, ਕੰਧ ਤੇ ਝੁਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਪ ਤੋਂ ਡਸਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
