Genesis 30:26
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਦਿਉ। ਮੈਂ 14 ਸਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਹੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।”

ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਤੇਰੇ ਇੱਜੜ ਵੱਧੇ ਫ਼ੁੱਲੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੇਖ-ਭਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਜਾਣਦੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਲਈ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।

ਲਾਬਾਨ ਨੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਧੋਖਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ? ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ਹੈਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ।
Genesis 31:31
ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਿਨਾ ਦੱਸੇ ਤੁਰ ਆਇਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰਦਾ ਸਾਂ! ਮੇਰਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਖੋਹ ਲਵੇਂਗਾ।
Genesis 31:38
ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਾਈ 20 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਭੇਡ ਜਾਂ ਬੱਕਰੀ ਦਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਜਨਮ ਸਮੇਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਇੱਜੜ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੇਡੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਧਾ।
