Genesis 28:13
ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੌੜੀ ਲਾਗੇ ਖਲੋਤਿਆਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਦੇ, ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਲੇਟਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ। ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।

| I | אֲנִ֣י | ʾănî | uh-NEE |
| am the Lord | יְהוָ֗ה | yĕhwâ | yeh-VA |
| God | אֱלֹהֵי֙ | ʾĕlōhēy | ay-loh-HAY |
| of Abraham | אַבְרָהָ֣ם | ʾabrāhām | av-ra-HAHM |
| thy father, | אָבִ֔יךָ | ʾābîkā | ah-VEE-ha |
| God the and | וֵֽאלֹהֵ֖י | wēʾlōhê | vay-loh-HAY |
| of Isaac: | יִצְחָ֑ק | yiṣḥāq | yeets-HAHK |
| the land | הָאָ֗רֶץ | hāʾāreṣ | ha-AH-rets |
| whereon | אֲשֶׁ֤ר | ʾăšer | uh-SHER |
| אַתָּה֙ | ʾattāh | ah-TA | |
| thou | שֹׁכֵ֣ב | šōkēb | shoh-HAVE |
| liest, | עָלֶ֔יהָ | ʿālêhā | ah-LAY-ha |
| it, give I will thee to | לְךָ֥ | lĕkā | leh-HA |
| and to thy seed; | אֶתְּנֶ֖נָּה | ʾettĕnennâ | eh-teh-NEH-na |
