Genesis 11:2
ਲੋਕ ਪੂਰਬ ਤੋਂ ਚੱਲ ਪਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਨਾਰ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਕੀਤੀ। ਲੋਕ ਉੱਥੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਟਿਕ ਗਏ।

| from the east, | מִקֶּ֑דֶם | miqqedem | mee-KEH-dem |
| found they that | וַֽיִּמְצְא֥וּ | wayyimṣĕʾû | va-yeem-tseh-OO |
| a plain | בִקְעָ֛ה | biqʿâ | veek-AH |
| in the land | בְּאֶ֥רֶץ | bĕʾereṣ | beh-EH-rets |
| Shinar; of | שִׁנְעָ֖ר | šinʿār | sheen-AR |
| and they dwelt | וַיֵּ֥שְׁבוּ | wayyēšĕbû | va-YAY-sheh-voo |
| there. | שָֽׁם׃ | šām | shahm |
