Galatians 4 in Punjabi

1 ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦੱਸਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, “ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰਸ ਨਾਬਾਲਗ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਜੇਕਰ ਵਾਰਸ ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ।

2 ਕਿਉਂ? ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਚਪਨੇ ਵੇਲੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੇਖ ਭਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਿਤ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

3 ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਕਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਸਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਰਿਵਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਸਾਂ। ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਠੀਕ ਸਮਾਂ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਘੱਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

4 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਸੀ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਨਿਯੰਤ੍ਰਣ ਹੇਠ ਜੰਮਿਆਂ।

5 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਲਿਆ ਸੱਕੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਮੰਤਵ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਬਨਾਉਣਾ ਸੀ।

6 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹੋ ਉਸੇ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਹਿਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਲਿਆ। ਆਤਮਾ ਕੁਰਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਅੱਬਾ, ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ।”

7 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੁਣ ਅਤੀਤ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹੋ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵਾਇਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹੋ।

8 ਗਲਾਤੀ ਮਸੀਹੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਅਤੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਜਾਣਦੇ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵਾਸਤਵਿਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ।

9 ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਸਲੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ। ਇਹ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਿਤਾਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਜ਼ੂਲ ਨੇਮਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਵਾਪਸ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹੋ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੁੱਢ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ? ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੁਣ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਬਣਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ?

10 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਖਾਸ ਦਿਨਾਂ, ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ, ਰੁੱਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ।

11 ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਥੋਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਡਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਡਰ ਹੈ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਜ਼ਾਇਆ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

12 ਭਰਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣੋ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੀ ਸਾਂ; ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਸੀ।

13 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਮੈਂ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਬਾਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਇਆ ਸਾਂ। ਇਹ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਸਾਂ। ਇਹ ਉਦੋਂ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।

14 ਮੇਰੀ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਬੋਝ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਖਾਈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਚੱਲੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਉ-ਭਗਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਤ ਹੋਵਾਂ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਂਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਖੁਦ ਮਸੀਹ ਹੋਵਾਂ।

15 ਉਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੁਣ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ? ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਸੰਭਵ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸੀ। ਜੇਕਰ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਖਿੰਚ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੰਦੇ।

16 ਕੀ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਰਿਹਾਂ।

17 ਉਹੀ ਲੋਕੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਤੇਜਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੰਤਵ ਠੀਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰੋ ਨਾ ਕਿ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਦਾ।

18 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਦਰਸ਼ਾਉਣਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਉਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੰਤਵ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਉਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

19 ਮੇਰੇ ਬੱਚਿਓ, ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਜਨਣੀ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਸਮੇਂ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਮਸੀਹ ਵਾਂਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ।

20 ਮੈਂ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਾਂ। ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਉਦੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਬਾਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਢੰਗ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ। ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਕਰਾਂ।

21 ਹਾਜਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਦੀ ਮਿਸਾਲ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੋਣਾ ਲੋਚਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਿ ਨੇਮ ਕੀ ਆਖ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ?

22 ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਦੱਸਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ। ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਔਰਤ ਸੀ। ਦੂਸਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਔਰਤ ਸੀ।

23 ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦਾ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਔਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਜਨਮਿਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਆਮ ਇਨਸਾਨੀ ਢੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮਿਆਂ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਔਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਜਨਮਿਆ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉਸ ਵਾਇਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਜਨਮਿਆ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।

24 ਇਹ ਸੱਚੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਦੋਵੇਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਦੋ ਕਰਾਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਹਨ। ਇੱਕ ਕਰਾਰ ਸੀਨਾਈ ਪਰਬਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਕਰਾਰ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ। ਹਾਜਰਾ ਨਾਮੇ ਮਾਂ ਉਸ ਕਰਾਰ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੈ।

25 ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਹਾਜਰਾ ਅਰਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀਨਾਈ ਪਰਬਤ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੈ। ਹਾਜਰਾ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਇੱਕ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਸਨੀਕ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਹਨ।

26 ਪਰ ਸੁਰਗੀ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਉਸ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਔਰਤ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਡੀ ਮਾਂ ਹੈ।

27 ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਉਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ; “ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋ, ਬਾਂਝ ਔਰਤ। ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਨਮਿਆ। ਤੂੰ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਸੂਤਕੀ ਪੀੜਾ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ, ਅਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਚੀਕ ਅਤੇ ਰੌਲਾ ਪਾ! ਜਿਹੜੀ ਔਰਤ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਬੱਚੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਤੀ ਹੈ।”

28 ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਮ ਇਨਸਾਨੀ ਢੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮਿਆ ਸੀ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦਾ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਇਸਹਾਕ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਇਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਨਮਿਆ ਸੀ। ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਾਇਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਜਨਮੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹੋ। ਆਮ ਇਨਸਾਨੀ ਢੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਰਾ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ।

29 ਪਰ ਪੋਥੀ ਕੀ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ? “ਗੁਲਾਮ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਦੇਹ। ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਔਰਤ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉਸ ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਹੈ।”

30 ਪਰ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਔਰਤ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਔਰਤ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਔਰਤ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਾਂ।

1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;

2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.

9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

12 Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.

13 Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.

14 And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.

15 Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.

16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

17 They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.

18 But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.

19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

20 I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.

21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.

23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
