Exodus 8:1
ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਮੇਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਚੱਲੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ।

| unto | אֶל | ʾel | el |
| Moses, | מֹשֶׁ֔ה | mōše | moh-SHEH |
| Go | בֹּ֖א | bōʾ | boh |
| unto | אֶל | ʾel | el |
| Pharaoh, | פַּרְעֹ֑ה | parʿō | pahr-OH |
| and say | וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֣ | wĕʾāmartā | veh-ah-mahr-TA |
| unto | אֵלָ֗יו | ʾēlāyw | ay-LAV |
| Thus him, | כֹּ֚ה | kō | koh |
| saith | אָמַ֣ר | ʾāmar | ah-MAHR |
| the Lord, | יְהוָ֔ה | yĕhwâ | yeh-VA |
| Let | שַׁלַּ֥ח | šallaḥ | sha-LAHK |
| people my | אֶת | ʾet | et |
| go, | עַמִּ֖י | ʿammî | ah-MEE |
| that they may serve | וְיַֽעַבְדֻֽנִי׃ | wĕyaʿabdunî | veh-YA-av-DOO-nee |
