Ecclesiastes 2:11
ਪਰ ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਫੇਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਦੇਖਿਆਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਸਖਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਅਰਬਹੀਣ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਹਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਵਾਂਗ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਭ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ।

| to do: | לַעֲשׂ֑וֹת | laʿăśôt | la-uh-SOTE |
| behold, and, | וְהִנֵּ֨ה | wĕhinnē | veh-hee-NAY |
| all | הַכֹּ֥ל | hakkōl | ha-KOLE |
| was vanity | הֶ֙בֶל֙ | hebel | HEH-VEL |
| vexation and | וּרְע֣וּת | ûrĕʿût | oo-reh-OOT |
| of spirit, | ר֔וּחַ | rûaḥ | ROO-ak |
| no was there and | וְאֵ֥ין | wĕʾên | veh-ANE |
| profit | יִתְר֖וֹן | yitrôn | yeet-RONE |
| under | תַּ֥חַת | taḥat | TA-haht |
| the sun. | הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃ | haššāmeš | ha-SHA-mesh |
