ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਕੌਮ ਦੀ ਸਾਜਣਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।’

Jeremiah 15:1
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ, ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਵੀ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੋਣ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਭੇਜ ਦੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਆਖਦੇ।

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ? ਉਹ ਦਰਸ਼ਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਕਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਭੈ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰੀ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜਦ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਦਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
Exodus 32:32
ਹੁਣ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਪਾਪ ਦੀ ਮਾਫ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਉ। ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਾਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿਉ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੈ।”
