Deuteronomy 5:9
ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਬੁੱਤ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇਖਕੇ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੋਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੜਪੋਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।
