Deuteronomy 5:25
ਪਰ ਜੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੇ! ਉਹ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਅੱਗ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਸੁੱਟੇਗੀ! ਅਸੀਂ ਮਰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ!

ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਇਸ ਨਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਭੇਜੇਗਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੇਰੋਬ ਪਰਬਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੀ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਅੱਗ ਤੋਂ ਭੈਭੀਤ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਬਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਦੇਖੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, ‘ਸਾਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾ ਸੁਣਨ ਦੇਵੋ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਅੱਗ ਨਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਦਿਉ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਮਰ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੇ।’

ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸੀਨਈ ਪਰਬਤ ਤੋਂ ਆਇਆ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੇਈਰ ਤੋਂ ਸਵੇਰ ਦੀ ਚਮਕਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਾਰਾਨ ਪਰਬਤ ਤੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਚਮਕਿਆ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਖਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਦਸ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਸਤੀਆਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਆਇਆ।

ਨਵਾਂ ਕਰਾਰ ਮਹਾਨ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਕਰਾਰ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਂਦੀ ਪੱਥਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਗੌਰਵ ਨਾਲ ਆਇਆ। ਮੂਸਾ ਦਾ ਮੁਖ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਇੰਨਾ ਚਮਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਉਸ ਵੱਲ ਇੱਕ ਟੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖ ਸੱਕੇ ਪਰ ਮਗਰੋਂ, ਇਹ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਫ਼ਿੱਕੀ ਪੈ ਗਈ।
Galatians 3:10
ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਧਰਮੀ ਬਨਣ ਲਈ ਨੇਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਸਰਾਪੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਕਿਉਂ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਆਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, “ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਨੇਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਇਸਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਸਰਾਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।”
Galatians 3:21
ਮੂਸਾ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਦਾ ਮੰਤਵ ਕੀ ਇਸਦਾ ਇਹ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨੇਮ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਇਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਰੱਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹੈ? ਨਹੀਂ। ਜੇਕਰ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਸੱਕਦੀ, ਫ਼ੇਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਧਰਮੀ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ।

ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਸ ਅੱਗ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
