Deuteronomy 28:13
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਵਰਗਾ ਬਣਾਵੇਗਾ ਪੂਛ ਵਰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ, ਥੱਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ। ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਾਪਰੇਗਾ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣੋਗੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਜ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੁਕਮਾ ਦੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।

| be shalt thou and | וְהָיִ֙יתָ֙ | wĕhāyîtā | veh-ha-YEE-TA |
| above only, | רַ֣ק | raq | rahk |
| לְמַ֔עְלָה | lĕmaʿlâ | leh-MA-la | |
| not shalt thou and | וְלֹ֥א | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| be | תִֽהְיֶ֖ה | tihĕye | tee-heh-YEH |
| beneath; | לְמָ֑טָּה | lĕmāṭṭâ | leh-MA-ta |
| if | כִּֽי | kî | kee |
| that thou hearken | תִשְׁמַ֞ע | tišmaʿ | teesh-MA |
| unto | אֶל | ʾel | el |
| commandments the | מִצְוֹ֣ת׀ | miṣwōt | mee-ts-OTE |
| of the Lord | יְהוָ֣ה | yĕhwâ | yeh-VA |
| thy God, | אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ | ʾĕlōhêkā | ay-loh-HAY-ha |
| which | אֲשֶׁ֨ר | ʾăšer | uh-SHER |
| I | אָֽנֹכִ֧י | ʾānōkî | ah-noh-HEE |
| command | מְצַוְּךָ֛ | mĕṣawwĕkā | meh-tsa-weh-HA |
| thee this day, | הַיּ֖וֹם | hayyôm | HA-yome |
| observe to | לִשְׁמֹ֥ר | lišmōr | leesh-MORE |
