Deuteronomy 19:12
ਜੇ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਵਾਪਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਜੱਦੀ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਭੇਜਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਾਤਲ ਨੂੰ ਅਵੱਸ਼ ਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

| avenger the of | אֹת֗וֹ | ʾōtô | oh-TOH |
| of blood, | בְּיַ֛ד | bĕyad | beh-YAHD |
| that he may die. | גֹּאֵ֥ל | gōʾēl | ɡoh-ALE |
| הַדָּ֖ם | haddām | ha-DAHM | |
| וָמֵֽת׃ | wāmēt | va-MATE |
