Deuteronomy 18:9
ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ “ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਵੋਂਗੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਸਿਖਣਾ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

“ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਬਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਪਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ। ਇਹ ਨੇਮ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਹਨ।
Leviticus 18:30
ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਬਿਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਪਾਕ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਾਂ।”
