Deuteronomy 18:5
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਚੁਣ ਲਿਆ।

ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਖਾਸ ਕੰਮ ਲਈ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਖ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਲਿਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦੇਣਾ ਵੀ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਖਾਸ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

“ਹਾਰੂਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਜਕ ਥਾਪੋ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ ਅਵੱਸ਼ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਵੱਸ਼ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”

ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨਾਦਾਬ, ਅਬੀਹੂ, ਅਲਆਜਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਈਥਾਮਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਣ। ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
Numbers 16:5
ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਕੋਰਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਨੁਯਾਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਰਸਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਸੱਚ ਮੁੱਚ ਉਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਰਸਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਸੱਚ ਮੁੱਚ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਲੈ ਆਵੇਗਾ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣ ਲਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਆਹ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਲੈ ਆਵੇਗਾ।

ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਚੁਣਾਂਗਾ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੋਟੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਪੱਤੇ ਪੁੰਗਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਣਗੇ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤਾਂ ਕਰਨੋ ਰੋਕ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।”
Deuteronomy 17:12
“ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਮੰਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ। ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
Numbers 25:13
ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ: ਉਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ, ਉਸਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਜਾਜਕ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਡੂੰਘੀਆਂ ਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਸਨ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ।”
