ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਬੂਤ ਵਾਂਗ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਦਲਣੇ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਇੱਕ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸਨੇ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਉਣਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਸੀ।”
