ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਸੜਕ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘਾਗੇ। ਜੇਕਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਣਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਤਾਰਾਂਗੇ। ਅਸੀਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਜਿੱਤਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ।”
