ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਸੜਏਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਆਦਮੀ ਗਿਬਆਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਛੁਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।

ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ 10,000 ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗੇ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਗਿਬਆਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਲੜਾਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਾਰੀ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਗੱਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੀ।

ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਉੱਥੇ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੀਂ। ਪਰ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹੋਕੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਦੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰਾ ਪਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਿਰੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੋਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ।
