John 19:28
ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਯਿਸੂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਪਿਆਸਾ ਹਾਂ।”

ਯਿਸੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਲਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਉਸਦਾ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਣ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਸੀ। ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਸਨ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਤ ਤੀਕ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਕੁੜਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾੜਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ, ਸਗੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਪਰਚੀਆਂ ਪਾਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲੈਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।” ਇਹ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਪੋਥੀ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋ ਸੱਕੇ। “ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਸਤਰ ਵੀ ਆਪਸ ਚ ਵੰਡ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਪਰਚੀ ਸੁੱਟੀ।” ਤਾਂ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਨੇ ਇਉਂ ਕੀਤਾ।

“ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਬੁਰਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਲੀਬ ਤੋਂ ਲਾਹਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਫ਼ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
