Jeremiah 38:14
ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੁੱਛਣੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਬੀ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਘਲਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਤੀਸਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰ ਕੋਲ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੁੱਛ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਛੁਪਾਈਁ ਸਗੋਂ ਹਰ ਗੱਲ ਈਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸੀਁ।”

ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਦੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕਰਨਾ ਇਹੀ ਉਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਉਦੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਪਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਸਫ਼ਨਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਪਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਮਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਨਯਾਹ ਮਅਸੇਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਪਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਨਯਾਹ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਏ।
Jeremiah 37:17
ਫ਼ੇਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਮਹਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ। ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕਾਂਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ?” ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਹਾਂ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ। ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”
Jeremiah 42:2
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੋ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਚੇ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ, ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚੇ ਹੋਏ। ਇੱਕ ਵੇਲੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਂ।
Jeremiah 42:20
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਗ਼ਲਤੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਬਣੇਗੀ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਸੀ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, ‘ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲ ਦੱਸੋ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਾਂਗੇ।’

ਅਹਾਬ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੀਕਾਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਵਾਰ ਸੌਂਹ ਚੁਕਾਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਦੱਸੀਂ।”
