ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ,’” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ, “‘ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਇਸ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਪਲੇਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਬੰਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਨਗੇ। ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਭੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਨਗੇ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਕਰਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਕੋਈ ਰਹਿਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਖਾਏਗਾ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ।’

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗੋ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਓਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਓ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਮੱਬੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਹਨ, ਗੱਭਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਟਿਆਰ ਹਨ, ਬੱਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਵਾਂ ਹਨ-ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਹਬਿਆਰ ਵਰਤਕੇ ਹਰ ਓਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਮੱਬੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਰਹਿਮ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਕਿਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਲਈ ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ! ਇੱਥੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰੋ।” ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
Isaiah 13:17

“ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਹਿਰਵਾਨ ਸਾਂ। ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਸਾਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੈਰ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਦਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਰਸਾਈ। ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਬੁਢਿਆਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸਖਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
Jeremiah 24:8
“ਪਰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਅੰਜੀਰਾਂ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਖਾਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਚ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਚ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਅੰਜੀਰਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
Jeremiah 34:19
ਇਹੀ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਛੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਹਿਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰੋ ਲੰਘੇ ਸਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ: ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ, ਰਾਜ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਦੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ, ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ।
Jeremiah 38:21
ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਤਮ-ਸਮਰਪਣ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਵਾਪਰੇਗਾ। ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
Jeremiah 39:4
ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੂਰ ਭੱਜ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਿਆ। ਉਹ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਬਾਹਰ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਦੋ ਦੀਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਸੀ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਮਾਰੂਬਲ ਵੱਲ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ।
Jeremiah 52:24
ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਖਾਸ ਦਸਤੇ ਦੇ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਨੇ ਸਰਾਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਨਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ। ਸਰਾਯਾਹ ਵੱਡਾ ਜਾਜਕ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਨਯਾਹ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਅਗਲਾ ਛੋਟਾ ਜਾਜਕ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਰਬਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ।
Ezekiel 8:18
ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਕਹਿਰ ਦਰਸਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਰਹਿਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੋਈ ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ! ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਉੱਚੀ-ਉੱਚੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕਰਨਗੇ-ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਸੁਣਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ!”
2 Chronicles 36:17
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸਲਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ। ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਾ ਜੁਆਨ ਨਾ ਕੁਆਰੀ, ਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੁੱਢੇ ਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਖਾਧਾ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
