Jeremiah 19:15
“ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ‘ਮੈਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਿਪਤਾਵਾਂ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਛੇਤੀ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਕਿਉਂ? ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿੱਦੀ ਹਨ-ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।’”

ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨਬੀ ਦਾ ਮਖੌਲ ਉਡਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਨ ਜਾਂ ਮੰਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਦ ਤੀਕ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਦ ਤੀਕ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਇੰਨਾ ਨਾ ਵੱਧ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਉਪਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਹੁਣ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਕਰੋਧ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਕੋਈ ਰੋਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਪਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ।
Nehemiah 9:17
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੈਰਾਨਕੁਨ ਕਾਰਜ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖੇ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਜ਼ਿੱਦੀ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਠਾਨ ਲਈ। “ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈਂ ਜੋ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕਰਦਾ, ਜੋ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਦਯਾਲੂ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਹੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਢਿੱਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈਂ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰਤਿਆ।
Jeremiah 35:15
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ, ਨਬੀਆਂ, ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵੱਲ ਬਾਰ-ਬਾਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, ‘ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨੇ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨੇਕੀ ਹੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਨਾ ਲੱਗੋ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਜਾਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨੋਗੇ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਸੋਗੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।’ ਪਰ ਤੁਸਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਵੱਲ ਕੋਈ ਧਿਆਨ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Psalm 58:2
