Genesis 43:8
ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ ਦਿਉ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਭੋਜਨ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਿਸਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੀ ਪੈਣਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ, ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ, ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੇ।

ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਜੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਮਰੀਏ, ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਮਰਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਹੀ, ਸੋ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਚਲੋ ਅਰਾਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਤੰਬੂ ’ਚ ਚਲੀਏ। ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਛੱਡਣ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਰਹਾਂਗੇ ਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਣ ਤਾਂ ਮਰਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਹੈ।”

Exodus 20:12

Genesis 50:21

Genesis 42:38
ਪਰ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਉਸਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਮਰ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦਾ ਇੱਕੋ-ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੁਝ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸੋਗੀ, ਬੁੱਢੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿਉਂਗੇ।”
