ਤਦ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮਫ਼ੀਬੋਸ਼ਥ ਦਾਊਦ ਕੋਲ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਪਰਨੇ ਡਿੱਗ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਿਆ। ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮਫ਼ੀਬੋਸ਼ਥ!” ਮਫ਼ੀਬੋਸ਼ਥ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹਾਂ ਮਾਲਿਕ! ਮੈਂ ਹੀ, ਮਫ਼ੀਬੋਸ਼ਥ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਾਸ ਹਾਂ।”
