ਹੋਰ ਬਹਾਦੁਰ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਸਰੂਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਆਬ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਅਬੀਸ਼ਈ ਵੀ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮੁਖੀਆਂ ਸੀ। ਅਬੀਸ਼ਈ ਨੇ ਇੱਕੋ ਵੇਲੇ 300 ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਰਛੀ ਚਲਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਬੜਾ ਨਾਮੀ ਬਣਿਆ।

ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਤਦ ਹਿੱਤੀ ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੂਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਬੀਸ਼ਈ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਯੋਆਬ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਸੀ, ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੇ ਡੇਰਿਆ ਵੱਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੌਣ ਚੱਲੇਗਾ?” ਅਬੀਸ਼ਈ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਚੱਲਾਂਗਾ।”

ਅਬਨੇਰ ਦਾ ਅਸਾਹੇਲ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਉੱਥੇ ਸਰੂਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਆਬ, ਅਬੀਸ਼ਈ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਾਹੇਲ ਵੀ ਸਨ। ਅਸਾਹੇਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਧੀਆ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਹਿਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਤੇਜ਼ ਦੌੜਾਕ ਸੀ।

ਪਰ ਅਮਾਸਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਵੱਲ ਜੋ ਯੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੋ ਯੋਆਬ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਉਸਦੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪੱਸਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਂਦਰਾਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਾ ਡਿੱਗੀਆਂ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਯੋਆਬ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ਉਸਤੇ ਵਾਰ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਸ਼ਬਾ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਦ ਯੋਆਬ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਅਬੀਸ਼ਈ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਸ਼ਬਾ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ।

ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੈਣਾਂ ਸਰੂਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਬੀਗੈਲ ਸਨ। ਸਰੂਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਅਬਸ਼ਈ, ਯੋਆਬ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਾਹੇਲ ਤਿੰਨ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ।
