ਦਾਊਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਗਰ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਣ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਤਸੁਕ ਸੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਇੱਛਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਕਿ ਕਾਸ਼ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੂਹ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਲਿਆਕੇ ਦੇਵੇ।”

Isaiah 44:3
“ਮੈਂ ਪਿਆਸੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਰ੍ਹਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਸੁੱਕੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਵਗਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਬੁਛਾੜ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵੱਲ ਵਗਦੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਨਦੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
