1 ਦਾਊਦ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੀਤ ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੀਤ ਲਿਖਿਆ:

2 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ, ਮੇਰਾ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ, ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ।

3 ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਟਿੱਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨੀਁ ਮੈਂ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਢਾਲ, ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਾਓ ਦਾ ਸਿੰਗ, ਮੇਰਾ ਉੱਚਾ ਗੜ੍ਹ, ਮੇਰੀ ਓਟ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

4 ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਖੌਲ ਉਡਾਉਂਦੇ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਪੁਕਾਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ।

5 ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੱਢਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਮੌਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ ਬੇਧਰਮੀ ਹੜਾਂ ’ਚ ਮੈਂ ਘਿਰਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਘਾਟ ਉਤਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹਿਆ।

6 ਪਾਤਾਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਡੋਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ, ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਫ਼ੰਧੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਸੀ,

7 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ’ਚ ਘਿਰਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ, ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮੰਦਰ ’ਚ ਵਿਰਾਜਮਾਨ, ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਸੁਣੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੁਰਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਦੀ ਚੀਖ ਸੁਣੀ।

8 ਤਦ ਧਰਤੀ ਕੰਬੀ ਤੇ ਥਰਥਰਾਈ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਹਾਂ ਹਿੱਲੀਆਂ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਰੋਧ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ।

9 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਸਾਂ ਚੋ ਧੂੰਆਂ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਮੂੰਹ ਚੋ ਅੱਗ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਾਟਾਂ ਚੱਲੀਆਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਦੇਹ ਚੋ ਅੱਗ ਦੇ ਚਿੰਗਾੜੇ ਉੱਡੇ।

10 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਅਸਮਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਵਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਉਤਰਿਆ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਭਾਰੇ ਘਣੇ ਕਾਲੇ ਬੱਦਲ ’ਚ ਖੜੋਤਾ।

11 ਉਹ ਉੱਡ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕਰੂਬੀ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਉਡਿਆ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਪੌਣ ਦੇ ਖੰਭਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

12 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਾਲੇ ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੰਬੂ ਵਾਂਗ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਲਪੇਟ ਲਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ, ਭਾਰੇ ਘਟੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ।

13 ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੀ ਦਮਕ ਤੋਂ ਅੰਗਿਆਰ ਦਗ-ਦਗ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ।

14 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਗਰਜਿਆ ਅੱਤ ਉੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਾਣੀ ਸੁਣਾਈ।

15 ਫ਼ਿਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਬਿਜਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਚਮਕ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

16 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਘੁਰਕਣੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਝੋਕੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਿਚਲੀਆਂ ਦਿਸ ਪਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਹਾਂ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਈਆਂ।

17 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅਰਸੋਁ ਫ਼ਰਸ਼ੇ ਉੱਤਰਿਆ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਕੜਿਆ ਤੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰਾਂ ਚੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਲ ਖਿਚਿਆ।

18 ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੜੀ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ।

19 ਮੇਰੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਸੀ।

20 ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੀ ਸੋ ਉਸ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖੁਲ੍ਹੇ ਅਸਮਾਨੀ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆਇਆ।

21 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੱਚਮਤਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਾਅ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

22 ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਿਆ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਪਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।

23 ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਨੂੰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

24 ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਮੈਂ ਖੁਦ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਕ ਤੇ ਮਾਸੂਮ ਰੱਖਿਆ।

25 ਸੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਚਮਤਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

26 ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।

27 ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਵਿਖਾਵੇਂਗਾ। ਹਾਠੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਾ ਹਾਠਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ।

28 ਤੂੰ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਮਿਹਰ ਹੈਂ ਹੰਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਕਹਿਰ ਹੈਂ।

29 ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਹੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ! ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਨੇਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਿਆਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ।

30 ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸਦਕਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੈਂ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭੱਜਿਆ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੀਵਾਰਾਂ ਟੱਪੀਆਂ।

31 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਪਰਤਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਰੱਖਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।

32 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੌਣ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ? ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਛੁੱਟ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਹੈ?

33 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੱਕਾ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

34 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਸਦਕਾ ਮੈਂ ਹਿਰਨੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਚੁੰਗੀਆਂ ਭਰਦਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਚਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

35 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨਾ ਸਿੱਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਸਦਕਾ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦਾ ਧਨੁੱਖ ਵੀ ਝੁਕਾਅ ਸੱਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

36 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਢਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਖਸ਼ੀ ਹੈਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਲਈ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਵਿੱਚ।

37 ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਦਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਰ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਿਲਕੇ, ਨਾ ਹੀ ਥਿੜਕੇ।

38 ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਦ ਤੀਕ ਨਾ ਵਾਪਸ ਮੁੜਿਆ ਜਦ ਤੀਕ ਉਹ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਨਾ ਹੋਏ।

39 ਮੈਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਇਆਂ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਏ ਮੁੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਨਾ ਉੱਠ ਸੱਕੇ।

40 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੂੰ ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਮਰ ਕੱਸੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੇਠ ਝੁਕਾਅ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

41 ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਿੱਠ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਈ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਰਬਨਾਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।

42 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕੋਈ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾ ਵਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

43 ਫ਼ਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਧੂਲ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਰਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਰਸਤੇ ਦੇ ਚਿਕੱੜ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਧਿਆ ਤ੍ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਲਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

44 ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਝਗੜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਇਆ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੌਮਾ ਦਾ ਮੁਖੀਆ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੀ ਆਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ।

45 ਪਰਦੇਸੀਆਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਿਆ, ਜਦ ਵੀ ਕਦੇ ਮੈਂ ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਝਟ ਹੁਕਮ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਘਬਰਾਏ।

46 ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਡਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਮਲਾਅ ਗਏ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਖੁੱਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਡਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਬੰਦੇ ਨਿਕਲੇ।

47 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

48 ਉਸ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਖਾਤਿਰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੇਠ ਰੱਖਿਆ।

49 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ, ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਾਲਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ।

50 ਸੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਹੇ ਯੋਹਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਵਾਂਗਾ।

51 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਲਈ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦਾ ਬੁਰਜ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਉੱਪਰ ਭਾਵ ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਦਯਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

1 And David spake unto the Lord the words of this song in the day that the Lord had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

2 And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

4 I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

5 When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

6 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

7 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

8 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

9 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

11 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

12 And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

13 Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.

14 The Lord thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

15 And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.

16 And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the Lord, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

17 He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;

18 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

19 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.

20 He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

21 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

22 For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

23 For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

24 I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

25 Therefore the Lord hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

26 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

27 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

28 And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

29 For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness.

30 For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

32 For who is God, save the Lord? and who is a rock, save our God?

33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

34 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

35 He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

36 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

37 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

38 I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

39 And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

40 For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.

41 Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

42 They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.

43 Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

44 Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.

45 Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.

46 Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.

47 The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

48 It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,

49 And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

50 Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

51 He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.

1 ਦਾਊਦ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੀਤ ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੀਤ ਲਿਖਿਆ:

2 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ, ਮੇਰਾ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ, ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ।

3 ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਟਿੱਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨੀਁ ਮੈਂ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਢਾਲ, ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਾਓ ਦਾ ਸਿੰਗ, ਮੇਰਾ ਉੱਚਾ ਗੜ੍ਹ, ਮੇਰੀ ਓਟ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

4 ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਖੌਲ ਉਡਾਉਂਦੇ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਪੁਕਾਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ।

5 ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੱਢਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਮੌਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ ਬੇਧਰਮੀ ਹੜਾਂ ’ਚ ਮੈਂ ਘਿਰਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਘਾਟ ਉਤਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹਿਆ।

6 ਪਾਤਾਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਡੋਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ, ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਫ਼ੰਧੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਸੀ,

7 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ’ਚ ਘਿਰਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ, ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮੰਦਰ ’ਚ ਵਿਰਾਜਮਾਨ, ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਸੁਣੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੁਰਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਦੀ ਚੀਖ ਸੁਣੀ।

8 ਤਦ ਧਰਤੀ ਕੰਬੀ ਤੇ ਥਰਥਰਾਈ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਹਾਂ ਹਿੱਲੀਆਂ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਰੋਧ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ।

9 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਸਾਂ ਚੋ ਧੂੰਆਂ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਮੂੰਹ ਚੋ ਅੱਗ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਾਟਾਂ ਚੱਲੀਆਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਦੇਹ ਚੋ ਅੱਗ ਦੇ ਚਿੰਗਾੜੇ ਉੱਡੇ।

10 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਅਸਮਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਵਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਉਤਰਿਆ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਭਾਰੇ ਘਣੇ ਕਾਲੇ ਬੱਦਲ ’ਚ ਖੜੋਤਾ।

11 ਉਹ ਉੱਡ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕਰੂਬੀ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਉਡਿਆ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਪੌਣ ਦੇ ਖੰਭਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

12 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਾਲੇ ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੰਬੂ ਵਾਂਗ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਲਪੇਟ ਲਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ, ਭਾਰੇ ਘਟੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ।

13 ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੀ ਦਮਕ ਤੋਂ ਅੰਗਿਆਰ ਦਗ-ਦਗ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ।

14 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਗਰਜਿਆ ਅੱਤ ਉੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਾਣੀ ਸੁਣਾਈ।

15 ਫ਼ਿਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਬਿਜਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਚਮਕ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

16 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਘੁਰਕਣੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਝੋਕੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਿਚਲੀਆਂ ਦਿਸ ਪਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਹਾਂ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਈਆਂ।

17 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅਰਸੋਁ ਫ਼ਰਸ਼ੇ ਉੱਤਰਿਆ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਕੜਿਆ ਤੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰਾਂ ਚੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਲ ਖਿਚਿਆ।

18 ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੜੀ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ।

19 ਮੇਰੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਸੀ।

20 ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੀ ਸੋ ਉਸ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖੁਲ੍ਹੇ ਅਸਮਾਨੀ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆਇਆ।

21 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੱਚਮਤਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਾਅ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

22 ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਿਆ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਪਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।

23 ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਨੂੰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

24 ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਮੈਂ ਖੁਦ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਕ ਤੇ ਮਾਸੂਮ ਰੱਖਿਆ।

25 ਸੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਚਮਤਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

26 ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।

27 ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਵਿਖਾਵੇਂਗਾ। ਹਾਠੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਾ ਹਾਠਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ।

28 ਤੂੰ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਮਿਹਰ ਹੈਂ ਹੰਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਕਹਿਰ ਹੈਂ।

29 ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਹੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ! ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਨੇਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਿਆਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ।

30 ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸਦਕਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੈਂ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭੱਜਿਆ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੀਵਾਰਾਂ ਟੱਪੀਆਂ।

31 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਪਰਤਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਰੱਖਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।

32 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੌਣ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ? ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਛੁੱਟ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਹੈ?

33 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੱਕਾ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

34 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਸਦਕਾ ਮੈਂ ਹਿਰਨੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਚੁੰਗੀਆਂ ਭਰਦਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਚਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

35 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨਾ ਸਿੱਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਸਦਕਾ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦਾ ਧਨੁੱਖ ਵੀ ਝੁਕਾਅ ਸੱਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

36 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਢਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਖਸ਼ੀ ਹੈਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਲਈ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਵਿੱਚ।

37 ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਦਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਰ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਿਲਕੇ, ਨਾ ਹੀ ਥਿੜਕੇ।

38 ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਦ ਤੀਕ ਨਾ ਵਾਪਸ ਮੁੜਿਆ ਜਦ ਤੀਕ ਉਹ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਨਾ ਹੋਏ।

39 ਮੈਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਇਆਂ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਏ ਮੁੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਨਾ ਉੱਠ ਸੱਕੇ।

40 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੂੰ ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਮਰ ਕੱਸੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੇਠ ਝੁਕਾਅ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

41 ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਿੱਠ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਈ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਰਬਨਾਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।

42 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕੋਈ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾ ਵਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

43 ਫ਼ਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਧੂਲ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਰਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਰਸਤੇ ਦੇ ਚਿਕੱੜ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਧਿਆ ਤ੍ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਲਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

44 ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਝਗੜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਇਆ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੌਮਾ ਦਾ ਮੁਖੀਆ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੀ ਆਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ।

45 ਪਰਦੇਸੀਆਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਿਆ, ਜਦ ਵੀ ਕਦੇ ਮੈਂ ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਝਟ ਹੁਕਮ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਘਬਰਾਏ।

46 ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਡਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਮਲਾਅ ਗਏ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਖੁੱਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਡਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਬੰਦੇ ਨਿਕਲੇ।

47 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

48 ਉਸ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਖਾਤਿਰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੇਠ ਰੱਖਿਆ।

49 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ, ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਾਲਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ।

50 ਸੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਹੇ ਯੋਹਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਵਾਂਗਾ।

51 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਲਈ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦਾ ਬੁਰਜ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਉੱਪਰ ਭਾਵ ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਦਯਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

1 And David spake unto the Lord the words of this song in the day that the Lord had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

2 And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

4 I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

5 When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

6 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

7 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

8 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

9 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

11 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

12 And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

13 Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.

14 The Lord thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

15 And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.

16 And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the Lord, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

17 He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;

18 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

19 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.

20 He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

21 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

22 For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

23 For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

24 I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

25 Therefore the Lord hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

26 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

27 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

28 And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

29 For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness.

30 For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

32 For who is God, save the Lord? and who is a rock, save our God?

33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

34 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

35 He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

36 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

37 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

38 I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

39 And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

40 For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.

41 Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

42 They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.

43 Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

44 Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.

45 Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.

46 Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.

47 The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

48 It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,

49 And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

50 Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

51 He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
