ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਸਰੂਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰੋ! ਭਲਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅੱਜ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੋਂ? ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਵੱਢਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ! ਭਲਾ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣਿਆ ਹਾਂ?”
