ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਬੰਦੀਵਾਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਖਤ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਕੈਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਖਤ ਲਿਖ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਖਤ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ, ਜਾਜਕਾਂ, ਨਬੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਉਹੀ ਲੋਕ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਫ਼ੜਕੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਸੀ।

ਬਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜਨ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਹਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਲੈ ਆਏ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਨ ਦੇ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਥਾਵੇਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਚੁਣਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਸੀ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ।

2 Kings 25:27
ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਵੀਲ ਮਰੋਦਕ ਬਾਬਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢਿਆ। ਇਹ ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਨ ਦੇ ਬੰਦੀ ਬਣਨ ਤੋਂ 37ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ’ਚ ਇਹ ਘਟਨਾ ਵਾਪਰੀ। ਇਉਂ ਅਵੀਲ ਮਰੋਦਕ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਤੋਂ 12ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ 27 ਦਿਨ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ।

Ezekiel 17:12
“ਇਸ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਓ-ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸ: ਪਹਿਲਾ ਬਾਜ਼ (ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਹੈ) ਬਾਬਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ।

ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਦਾ ਸਾਰ ਇਹ ਉਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਚੌਬੇ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ। ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਮ ਯੋਸ਼ੀਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਚੌਬਾ ਵਰ੍ਹਾ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਵਰ੍ਹਾ ਸੀ।

Jeremiah 52:31
ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਮਿਲੀ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਬਾਬਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੈਂਤੀ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਕੈਦ ਰਿਹਾ। ਉਸਦੀ ਕੈਦ ਦੇ 37 ਵੇਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਬਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਵੀਲ-ਮਰੋਦਕ ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਸਾਲ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਉਸੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਵੀਲ-ਮਰੋਦਕ ਬਾਬਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਸੀ। ਅਵੀਲ-ਮਰੋਦਕ ਨੇ ਯੇਹੋਇਚਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਵੇਂ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਪੱਚੀਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਕੈਦ ਤੋਂ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਕੀਤਾ।

Jeremiah 38:17
ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਤਮ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ, ਤੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਬਖਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ।

Jeremiah 22:24
ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯੇਹੋਇਆਚਿਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਨਿਆਂ “ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਸਾਖੀ ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ”, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ, “ਯੇਹੋਇਆਚਿਨ, ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਯੇਹੋਇਆਚਿਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ: ਭਾਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਅੰਗੂਠੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੀ, ਫ਼ੇਰ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੰਦਾ।
