ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਲੇਕਿਨ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨੇ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਹੀਕਾਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੋਤਰੇ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ।

ਤਦ ਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਨ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯੋਸੀਯਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਆਇਆ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ। ਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਖਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਇੱਕਤਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਪੈਸਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਾਮਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।”

ਜਦੋਂ ਯੋਸੀਯਾਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਵਾਕ ਸੁਣੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਸਤਰ ਫ਼ਾੜ ਲਏ।

ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਮਂਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਰਾਜੇ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਾੜ ਲੇ ਇਹ ਦਰਸਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁੱਖ੍ਖੀ ਸੀ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਸੋਗ ਦੇ ਖਾਸ ਵਸਤਰ ਪਹਿਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵੱਲ ਗਿਆ।
Jeremiah 26:22
ਪਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਮ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਅਲਨਾਥਾਨ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਅਲਨਾਥਾਨ ਅਕਬੋਰ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ।
