ਫ਼ਿਰ ਯੋਆਸ਼ ਦੇ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਮਤਾ ਪਕਾਇਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੋ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਸਿੱਲਾ ਦੀ ਢਾਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈ, ਉੱਥੇ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ।

ਅਰਾਮੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦੀ ਅਜੇ ਇੱਕ ਛੋਟਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਦਲ ਹੀ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਛੋਟੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਦਲ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਹੀ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਇੰਨੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਉਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯੋਆਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦੰਡ ਮਿਲਿਆ।

ਜਦੋਂ ਅਮਸਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਮਸਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸਾਜਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਘੜੀਆਂ। ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਲਾਕੀਸ਼ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੱਜ ਗਿਆ ਪਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ-ਪਿੱਛੇ ਕੁਲ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਕੀਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਤਮ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਤਾਂ ਆਮੋਨ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਮਤਾ ਪਕਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ।
