ਤਦ ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣਗੇ, ‘ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੰਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗ ਗਏ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਅਰਚਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਇਹ ਭਾਣਾ ਵਰਤਾਇਆ ਹੈ।’”

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗਣਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ। ਇਸਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿਰਵਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸਲਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ। ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਾ ਜੁਆਨ ਨਾ ਕੁਆਰੀ, ਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੁੱਢੇ ਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਖਾਧਾ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Jeremiah 1:16
ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੰਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਨੇ। ਮੇਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈਆਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਘੜਿਆ ਸੀ।
Lamentations 2:16
ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਸਦੇ ਨੇ। ਉਹ ਸੀਟੀਆਂ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਦੰਦ ਕਰੀਚਦੇ ਨੇ। ਉਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਨੇ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਿਗਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਾਂ, ਆਖਰਕਾਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।”

ਇਹ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਹ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਧਰਮੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਖੂਨ ਵਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
Ezekiel 14:23
ਤੂੰ ਦੇਖੇਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਸੀ।” ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ।
Ezekiel 36:17
“ਆਦਮੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਪਾਕ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਵਰਗੇ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਹਵਾਰੀ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਪਲੀਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Daniel 9:12
“ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਪਰਨੀਆਂ ਸਨ-ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਾਪਰੀਆਂ।
