ਸਾਰੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਜੋ ਉੱਥੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਰਸਮ ਕੀਤੀ। ਤਾਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਜਾਜਕ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖ ਦਲ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਥਾਵੇਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਏ।

ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਲੋਕ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੁੰਮੇ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਪਸਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਵੱਢਣ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਣ।

ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ 14ਤਾਰੀਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਸਹ ਦੇ ਲੇਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਟਿਆ। ਤਾਂ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਲਈ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਏ।

ਪਰ ਇੰਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੱਲ ਲਾਹਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਜਕ ਘੱਟ ਸਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਹੋਮ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ। ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਸੰਬੰਧੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮਦਦ ਕੀਤੀ। ਜਦ ਤੀਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੰਮ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਨਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ, ਲੇਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਸਗੋਂ ਲੇਵੀ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਹੋਕੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।

ਤਦ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸੱਕੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਏ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਅੱਯੂਬ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਦਾਅਵਤ ਤੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਜਲਦੀ ਉੱਠ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਰ ਬੱਚੇ ਸਦਕਾ ਹੋਮ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਸੀ, “ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਬਁੇਧਿਆਨੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਦਾਅਵਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਪ ਕਰ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੋਣ।” ਅੱਯੂਬ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਬਖਸ਼ੇ ਜਾਣ।
