ਸੋ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਯਾਬੇਸ਼ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਵਾਹਕ ਭੇਜੇ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਵਾਹਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਾਬੇਸ਼ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦੇਵੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਉੱਪਰ ਇੰਨੀ ਦਯਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਡੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਤਾਂ ਬੋਅਜ਼ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੁਟਿਆਰੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਕਰੇ। ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਰਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨੀ ਉਸ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਡੇਰੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਓਮੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਲਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਅਮੀਰ ਜਾਂ ਗਰੀਬ ਜਵਾਨ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਚੁਣ ਸੱਕਦੀ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
1 Samuel 24:19
ਇੱਥੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਵੈਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜਕੇ ਛੱਡਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਨਾਲ ਭਲਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਮੈਂ ਆਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਅੱਜ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਭਲਾਈ ਦਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਇਨਾਮ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।

ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਅਬੀਗੈਲ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ’ਚ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰ। ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰ ਉਸ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ।
