ਇਉਂ ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਨ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਮਨੋਨ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਪਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਚ ਕੇ ਭੱਜ ਗਏ। ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਖੱਚਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਭੱਜ ਗਏ।

ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭੇਜੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਅੱਗ ’ਚ ਸੜਨਾ ਅਹਜ਼ਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ 50 ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਭੇਜੇ। ਕਪਤਾਨ, ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਪਹਾੜ ਦੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਉੱਪਰ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਨੇ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਉਤਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।”
Proverbs 29:12
