ਫ਼ਿਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨੋ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਡੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਬੇਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਬਲੂਤ ਦੇ ਬਿਰਛ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਦੱਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਤਦ ਯਾਬੇਸ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਪਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਤ ਦਿਨ ਤੱਕ ਵਰਤ ਰੱਖਿਆ।

ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦਾ ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰਨਾ ਤਦ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਰਾਮਾਹ ਦੇ ਗਿਬਆਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਝਾਊ ਦੇ ਬਿਰੱਖ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਰਛੀ ਹੱਥ ’ਚ ਫ਼ੜੀ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ।
Genesis 35:8
ਦੋਬਰਾਹ, ਰਿਬਕਾਹ ਦੀ ਦਾਸੀ, ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਮਰੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਬੈਤਏਲ ਵਿਖੇ ਇੱਕ ਓਕ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਦਫ਼ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅੱਲੋਨ ਬਾਕੂਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ।

ਉਹ ਸਭ ਬੜੇ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋਏ, ਰੋਏ-ਪਿੱਟੇ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਤੀਕ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਖਾਧਾ। ਉਹ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਦਾ ਸੋਗ ਮਨਾਉਂਦੇ ਰੋਦੇ-ਪਿੱਟਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਰੋਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਹੀ ਜੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੋਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਉਹ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਜੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਲਈ ਰੋਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਰਹੇ।
2 Samuel 2:4
ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਯਾਬੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਨਾ ਤਦ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਹਬਰੋਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਵਜੋਂ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਯਾਬੇਸ਼ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਬਿਆ।”
