1 Samuel 13:13
ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੂੰ ਬੜੀ ਮੂਰੱਖਤਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨੀ। ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਲਈ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਰਾਜ ਬਖਸ਼ ਦੇਣਾ ਸੀ।

ਪਰ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਭਲਾ ਇਹ ਦੱਸ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਿ ਉਸਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ? ਵੇਖ! ਮੰਨਣਾ ਭੇਟਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੋਤਾ ਬਨਣਾ ਭੇਡੇ ਦੀ ਚਰਬੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੱਧ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ।

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਗਲਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਨ-ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।” ਸਮੂਏਲ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੋਂਦਾ ਤਰਲੇ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ।

ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਚੋਲਾ ਪਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤਾਂ ਇੰਝ ਹੀ, ਅੱਜ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਪਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਰਾਜ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੋਸਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦੇ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਹੈ।
Proverbs 19:3
ਕਿਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੂਰੱਖਤਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਵੇਗਾ।

ਤਦ ਹਨਾਨੀ ਗੈਬਦਾਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੇਹੂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੂੰ ਬੁਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਘਿਰਣਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਇਹੀ ਕਾਰਣ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੈ।
1 Kings 21:20
ਤਾਂ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਅਹਾਬ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਅਹਾਬ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ! ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ!” ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ’ਚ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਤੋਂ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ। ਤੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਿਆ।
1 Kings 18:18
ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗਣਾ ਸੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਫੇਰ ਇਹ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਆਈ।
2 Samuel 12:7
ਨਾਥਾਨ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਤਦ ਨਾਥਾਨ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਉਹ ਧਨਾਢ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਤਾਂ ਹੈਂ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਉਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਪਰ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇਁ। ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਇਆ।

ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਦੀ ਤੀਵੀਂ ਹੇਰੋਦਿਯਾਸ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜਕੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
