1 Kings 11:18
ਉਹ ਮਿਦਿਆਨ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਪਾਰਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਰਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਲ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਦਲ ਮਿਸਰ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ। ਉੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਕੋਲ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਖਾਣ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸੀਨਈ ਪਰਬਤ ਤੋਂ ਆਇਆ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੇਈਰ ਤੋਂ ਸਵੇਰ ਦੀ ਚਮਕਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਾਰਾਨ ਪਰਬਤ ਤੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਚਮਕਿਆ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਖਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਦਸ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਸਤੀਆਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਆਇਆ।
Deuteronomy 1:1
ਮੂਸਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਉਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਦੋਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਯਰਦਨ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਰੂਥਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਜਗ਼੍ਹਾ ਸੂਫ਼ ਦੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ, ਪਾਰਾਨ ਪਰਬਤ, ਤੋਂਫ਼ਲ, ਲਾਬਾਨ ਹਸੇਰੋਥ ਅਤੇ ਦੀਜ਼ਾਹਾਬ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਸੀ।
Habakkuk 3:3
ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੇਮਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰੱਖ ਪਾਰਾਨ ਪਰਬਤ ਤੋਂ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਨੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਸਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਓਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਾਜ਼ਬੀ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਧੋਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਮਿਦਯਾਨੀ ਆਗੂ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਦੋਂ ਮਾਰੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਓਰ ਵਾਲੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਹਾਮਾਰੀ ਫ਼ੈਲੀ ਸੀ।”

ਉਸ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ, ਸਾਲੂ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜ਼ਿਮਰੀ ਸੀ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਿਦਯਾਨੀ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸ਼ਿਮਓਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਆਗੂ ਸੀ।
Numbers 25:6
ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ, ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਇੱਕ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਿਦਯਾਨੀ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾ ਲਈ ਘਰ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਆਗੂ ਦੇਖ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਸਨ। ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਗੂ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
Numbers 22:4
ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਮਿਦਯਾਨ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਏਡੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੀੜ, ਸਾਡੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈਅ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਗਊ ਕਿਸੇ ਖੇਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਘਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਚਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।” ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਿੱਪੋਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਾਲਾਕ ਮੋਆਬ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀ।

ਮਿਦਯਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ ਏਫ਼ਾਹ, ਏਫ਼ਰ, ਹਨੋਕ, ਅਬੀਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਲਦਾਆ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਕਟੂਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
