ਮਰਾਰੀ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਦ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਤੋਂ ਰਾਮੋਥ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲਾਤਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਮਹਨਯਿਮ ਅਤੇ ਹਸ਼ਬੋਨ ਨਗਰ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਜ਼ੇਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੈਲੀਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਏ।

ਬਰਜ਼ਿੱਲਈ ਬੜਾ ਬੁੱਢਾ, 80 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਮਹਨਇਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਆ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਰਸਤ-ਪਾਣੀ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੜਾ ਅਮੀਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੀ।

ਇਸੇ ਵਕਤ ਅਹਾਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਯਾਦ ਰਹੇ ਕਿ ਰਾਮੋਥ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਖੋਹਿਆ ਸੀ! ਭਲਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਚੁੱਪ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਬੈਠੀਏ? ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਈਏ। ਇਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਹੀ ਨਗਰ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।”
