ਕਨਜ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਸੀ ਆਥਨੀਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਾਯਾਹ। ਆਥਨੀਏਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ ਹਥਥ ਅਤੇ ਮਓਨੋਥਈ।

ਆਥਨੀਏਲ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਕਨਜ਼ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਆਥਨੀਏਲ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਧੀ ਅਕਸਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਆਥਨੀਏਲ ਨਾਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਕਾਲੇਬ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਛੋਟਾ ਭਰਾ ਕਨਜ਼ ਸੀ। ਕਨਜ਼ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਲੜਕਾ ਸੀ ਅਥਨੀਏਲ। ਅਥਨੀਏਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਯਥ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਨੇ ਅਥਨੀਏਲ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਧੀ ਅਕਸਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਥਨੀਏਲ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਕਨਜ਼, ਕਾਲੇਬ ਦੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਭਰਾ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਅਥਨੀਏਲ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ।
