ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਦੂਤ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਪਰ ਜਦ ਹੀ ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸ ਨਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਪਛਤਾਇਆ। ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੂਤ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਰੁਕ ਜਾ! ਬਸ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ!” ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਅਜੇ ਯਬੂਸੀ ਆਰਨਾਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੜ ਕੋਲ ਖੜੋਤਾ ਸੀ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਨਬੀ ਮੀਕਾਹ ਮੋਰਸ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦਾ ਸੀ। ਮੀਕਾਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਾ ਨਬੀ ਸੀ। ਮੀਕਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ: ‘ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ਸੀਯੋਨ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਇਹ ਵਾਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਖੇਤ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਪੱਥਰ ਦਾ ਢੇਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਮੰਦਰ ਵਾਲੀ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਸੱਖਣੀ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਜਿਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਝਾੜੀਆਂ ਉੱਗੀਆਂ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ।’

ਤੂੰ ਹੌਸਲਾ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ! ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖਣ ਦਾ ਹੌਸਲਾ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਸ਼ੀਲੋਹ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ! ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖਣ ਦਾ ਹੌਸਲਾ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਮਾਰੂਬਲ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੇਗਾ।” ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
Jeremiah 18:7
ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਂ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਕੌਮ ਜਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਰਾਜ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਮੈਂ ਆਖਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਾਂਹ ਉੱਠਾਵਾਂ। ਅਤੇ ਜਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਮੈਂ ਆਖਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂ ਉਸ ਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਦਿਖਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।

ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਮੰਦਰ ਉਸਾਰਨਾ ਤਦ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੋਰੀਯਾਹ ਪਹਾੜ ਉੱਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਮੰਦਰ ਬਨਵਾਉਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਆਰਨਾਨ ਯਬੂਸੀ ਦੇ ਪਿੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਸੋ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਥਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਸੀ, ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਬਣਵਾਇਆ।

ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਦਿਨ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਲਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਥੱਕ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਝਾੜੀ ਹੇਠ ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਮੌਤ ਮੰਗੀ ਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ! ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਜੀਅ ਲਿਆ। ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਦੇਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ।”

ਜਦੋਂ ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਪਸਾਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਹਟ ਗਿਆ। ਜਿਸ ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਠ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਬਸ ਕਰ, ਬਹੁਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਨੀਵੇਂ ਕਰ ਲੈ।” ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਯਬੂਸੀ ਅਰਵਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਖਲਵਾੜੇ ਕੋਲ ਖੜੋਤਾ ਸੀ।
Judges 10:16
ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹੋਰ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਨਾ ਸਹਾਰ ਸੱਕਿਆ।
Judges 2:18
