ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਣ ਲਈ ਨਿਕਲੇ ਪਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਰਕ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਭਾਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਮਾਓਨ ਦੀ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ “ਇੱਕ ਚੱਟਾਨ” ਵੱਲ ਉਤਰ ਗਿਆ। ਜਦ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਮਾਓਨ ਦੀ ਉਜਾੜ ਵੱਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਣ ਲਈ ਉਸੇ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਗਿਆ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਸੀ।
Psalm 142:1
ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਭੱਗਤੀ ਗੀਤ। ਇਹ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਗੁਫ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਮਦਦ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
