ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਰਾਜ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਖੋਹ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ। ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦਸ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।

ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਮੁੜ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਭਜਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਮਗਰ ਨਾ ਲੱਗਾ।
