ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਹਦਰ ਅਜ਼ਰ ਤੋਂ 1,000 ਰੱਥ, 7,000 ਸਾਰਥੀ, 20,000 ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਲੈ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੰਗੜਿਆਂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਰੱਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੱਚਦੇ ਸਨ। ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਸੌ ਰੱਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੱਚਣ ਲਈ ਕਾਫੀ ਘੋੜੇ ਰੱਖ ਲਏ।

Deuteronomy 17:16

Psalm 20:7
ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਰੱਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਦੂਜੇ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਫ਼ੌਜੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
Psalm 33:16
ਰਾਜਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਬਲ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ। ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਯੋਧਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਬਲ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
