ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਇਉਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੋਈ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਿਆ। ਇਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਭੂਤ-ਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਸਲਾਹ ਮਸ਼ਵਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।

Exodus 22:18
“ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਔਰਤ ਕਾਲਾ ਜਾਦੂ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।
