பூமியின் குடிகளே, சிறியோரும் பெரியோரும் ஐசுவரியவான்களும் எளியவர்களுமாகிய நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் ஏகமாய்ச் செவிகொடுங்கள்.

அப்பொழுது திதிமு என்னப்பட்ட தோமா மற்றச் சீடர்களைப் பார்த்து: அவருடன் மரிப்பதற்கு நாமும் போவோம் வாருங்கள் என்றான்.

பிறகு தோமா என்று அழைக்கப்படும் சீஷன், ஏனைய சீஷர்களைப் பார்த்து, “நாமும் அவரோடு போவோம். யூதேயாவில் இயேசுவோடு நாமும் சாவோம்” என்றான்.
