ମହାନଗରୀ ତିନି ଭାଗ ରେ ବିଭକ୍ତ ହେଲା। ଦେଶଗୁଡ଼ିକର ନଗରସବୁ ନଷ୍ଟ ହାଇଗେଲା। ପରମେଶ୍ବର ମହାନଗରୀ ବାବିଲୋନକୁ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଦବୋପାଇଁ ଭୁଲିଲେ ନାହିଁ। ସେ ତାହାକୁ ତାହାଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଚଣ୍ଡ କୋରଧରୂପ ମଦିରାପାତ୍ରରୁ ପାନ କରାଇଲେ।

ତା'ପରେ ଜଣେ ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ ଦୂତ ଗୋଟିଏ ପ୍ରକାଣ୍ଡ ପଥର ଉଠାଇଲେ। ଏହି ପଥରଟି ଗୋଟିଏ ଚକିପଥର ପରି ବହୁତ ବଡ଼। ସହେି ଦୂତ ଜଣକ ପଥରଟିକୁ ସମୁଦ୍ର ଭିତରକୁ ଫିଙ୍ଗି ଦେଲେ ଏବଂ କହିଲେ :

ସହେି ରାଜାମାନେ ଯେତବେେଳେ ତାହାର ୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ଦେଖିବେ, ସେତବେେଳେ ସମାନେେ ଭୟ କରିବେ ଏବଂ ତା'ଠାରୁ ବହୁତ ଦୂର ରେ ରହିବେ। ସମାନେେ କହିବେ :

ଏହି ଦୁଇ ସାକ୍ଷୀଙ୍କର ଶରୀର ମହାନଗରୀର ରାସ୍ତା ରେ ପଡ଼ିରହିବ। ଏହି ନଗରର ନାମ 'ସଦୋମ' ଓ 'ମିସର'। ନଗରର ନାମଗୁଡ଼ିକର ବିଶଷେ ଅର୍ଥ ରହିଛି। ଏହି ନଗର ରେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ଯ କ୍ରୁଶ ରେ ଚଢ଼ାଇ ମାରି ଦିଆଯାଇଥିଲା।

ହେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ, ଉଠ, ଜାଗ, ଛିଡ଼ାହୁଅ, କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଉପ ରେ କୋପ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ତେଣୁ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଦଇେଛନ୍ତି। ସେ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଏକ ମଦପାତ୍ର ସଦୃଶ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ପାନ କରିଛି। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରୁ କୋପରୂପ ପାନପାତ୍ର ନଇେ ତାହାକୁ ଶଷେ କରିଅଛ।
