1 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ୟବେେ ଗୃହ ନିର୍ମାଣ ନ କରନ୍ତି, ତବେେ ନିର୍ମାଣକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ପରିଶ୍ରମ ବ୍ଯର୍ଥ ହୁଏ। ୟବେେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ନଗର ରକ୍ଷା ନ କରନ୍ତି, ତବେେ ପ୍ରହରୀ ଜାଗ୍ରତ ହବୋ କବଳେ ବୃଥା ଅଟେ।
2 ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଦୈନନ୍ଦିନ ଜୀବିକା ଉପାର୍ଜନ ନିମନ୍ତେ ପ୍ରଭାତରେ ଉଠ, ଏବଂ ବିଳମ୍ବରେ ବିଶ୍ରାମ କର, ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ବୃଥା। କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଭଲ ପାଉଥିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିଦ୍ରିତ ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଯତ୍ନ ନିଅନ୍ତି।
3 ଦେଖ, ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଉପହାର। ଗର୍ଭାଶଯରୁ ଶିଶୁମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ପୁରସ୍କାର ଅଟନ୍ତି।
4 ୟୁବକର ପୁତ୍ରଗଣ ଏକ ସୈନ୍ଯର ହସ୍ତର ବାଣଗୁଡ଼ିକ ସଦୃଶ ଅଟେ।
5 ସହେି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ଭାଗ୍ଯବାନ, ଯେଉଁ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିର କବେବେି ପରାସ୍ତ ହବେ ନାହିଁ, ଯେତବେେଳେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଶତ୍ରୁଗଣ ନଗର ଫାଟକରେ ଅବରୋଧ କରନ୍ତି। ପୁତ୍ର ରୂପକ ବାଣରେ ଭର୍ତ୍ତି ହୁଏ, ସେ ହେଉଛି ଭାଗ୍ଯବାନ୍।

3 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
4 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
5 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
6 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

5 ସହେି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ଭାଗ୍ଯବାନ, ଯେଉଁ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିର କବେବେି ପରାସ୍ତ ହବେ ନାହିଁ, ଯେତବେେଳେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଶତ୍ରୁଗଣ ନଗର ଫାଟକରେ ଅବରୋଧ କରନ୍ତି। ପୁତ୍ର ରୂପକ ବାଣରେ ଭର୍ତ୍ତି ହୁଏ, ସେ ହେଉଛି ଭାଗ୍ଯବାନ୍।
